SCOUT AND GUIDE GUIDELINES FROM KVS(RO) PATNA FOR THE SESSION 2010-11
- Scout and Guide activities should be organised during Zero period /Mass P T period/Sundays by providing refreshment @ 10/- per head.
- Involvement of maximum students should be encouraged subject to the following norms.
- No. of troops/Company in a Vidyalaya.
1. One section Vidyalaya : One troop or company.
2. Two section Vidyalaya : One troop/company each as above.
3. Three section Vidyalaya: Two troops/company.
4. Four section Vidyalaya : Three troops/company.
5. Five section Vidyalaya : Four troops/company or above.
6. D.A for students/Escorts during Camps per head is Rs.110/-
It is proposed to have a programme in all the Vidyalayas the Scouts and Guides activities in the following areas like:
(a). Service to clean the Vidyalaya.
(b). Service to any occasion.
(c). Scout/Guide corner should be highlighted in every Vidyalaya.
(d).Big size Photograph of Badden Powell’S should be kept in every Vidyalaya.
(e).Scout Law, Promise, Motto should be written in bold Letters.
(f).Monkey Tree-made by adding thick and different sizes of branches of trees.
(g).Adolescence Education should be included in Scouting and Guiding.
5. wearing of uniform by the scout and guide teachers should be made compulsory during the activities and on all special occassions.
6. Basic Training Programme for Scout Master,Guide Captain,Cub Master and Flock Leaders will be organized in winter vacation at K.V. 39 G.T.C. Varanasi.
7. Principals will make sure minimum one Scout Master, Guide Captain, Cub Master and flock Leader should be in every Vidyalaya preferably two for above four wings.
8. Newly appointed teachers should be sent for Basic Training programmes.
9. At least two troops meeting are suggested at Vidyalaya level in a month and Report should send to R.O.
10. An Honour Board should be in each school for Rajya Puraskar and Rashtrapati Puraskar awardees similarly for highly qualified teachers incentive and National Awardee teachers also.
11. To give more focus for Scout and Guide movement a Regional Magazine and website will be introduced soon. The Vidyalayas are requested to send news of activities along with Photographs, Articles, Poems, Essays, Jocks,Short Stories etc from Scouts/Guides ,Scouters and Guiders related with scout spirit.
12. Hiking/Trekking and excursion are necessary at Vidyalaya Level for Scouts and Guids.
13. Divisional Rally will be organized before K.V.S. Rally.
14. A running shield will be awarded for best Vidyalaya on the basis of Scout and Guide activities and achievements accordingly.
15. Incentive and Encouragement are to be given to the best Scouter and Guider at Vidyalaya Level/Regional Level.
16. Flag Break should separate for Scout & Guide wings.
17. Friday/Wedensday fixed for scouting activities.
18. Maintanance of Log Books should be shown at the time of inspection.
19. Proper training for Scouts & Guides.
20. For uniform of Scouter & Guider Rs.2500 per year will be reimbursed not in advance.
21. Dwitiya Sopan Testing Camp will be organized at cluster level. Details are as follows:

(3). Azamgarh cluster K.V. Ballia.
(4). Sonepur cluster K.V. Muzzafarpur
(5). Jamalpur cluster K.V.Jamalpur
(6). Barauni cluster K.V. I.O.C. Barauni
22. Any activities or work related to scouting / guiding during holidays minimum four hours duration Scouter/Guider entitle to get C.C.L. as per KVS norms.
23. Tritiya Sopan Testing camp should be organized at two venues District wise.
For- District -1 - K.V. D.L.W. Varanasi from -03.09.2010 to 06.09.2010
For- District -2 - K.V.Katihar -from -14.09.2010 to 17.09.2010.
24. No. of Participants in pre Rajya Puraskar Testing camp being increased by 08 only for 3 to 5 section Vidyalayas and for other Vidyalays the no. will be 4 Scouts & Guides.
